PayContext Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Overview

PayContext is a browser extension designed to add salary context and hiring-source signals to SEEK job results. This policy mainly explains what data the PayContext browser extension processes and how that data is handled. It also briefly explains optional PayContext website support features.

Browser Extension Data Handling

The PayContext browser extension itself does not collect personal data for transmission to us, does not run analytics, and does not track your browsing across websites. The extension runs only on SEEK pages covered by its permissions and processes supported page information locally in your browser.

Local Processing and Local Storage

PayContext stores data locally in your browser's extension storage to improve performance and keep results consistent as you move between SEEK search results and job detail pages. This locally stored extension data is not sent to PayContext servers or shared with third parties by the extension.

The extension may store:

  • Extension settings needed for the product to remember its local behavior.
  • A local cache of supported SEEK job detail data keyed by SEEK job ID.

The local job detail cache may include job title, employer name, location, classification or category, work type, advertiser type, salary values or salary period, and a limited excerpt of job description text used to improve matching and context.

Cached job detail entries automatically expire after up to 7 days, and older or stale entries are removed when PayContext refreshes its local cache.

Salary Data Sources

PayContext may display salary context based on:

  • Employer-provided salary information shown in SEEK listings, when available.
  • Market salary context derived from publicly available datasets such as ABS and other public salary references when a listing does not disclose pay.

PayContext does not provide a guaranteed salary for an individual role and does not claim that market guidance is the exact pay offered by an employer.

Extension Permissions

PayContext requests only the permissions needed for its core functionality:

  • Access to supported SEEK pages so the extension can read listing and job detail information and display PayContext UI there.
  • Storage so the extension can save settings and the local job detail cache described above in your browser.

Extension Data Sharing

PayContext does not sell personal information. The extension does not use external analytics, advertising, or remote data collection services. The extension does not use extension data for advertising, user profiling, or selling data to third parties.

Website and Support Features

This policy mainly describes the PayContext browser extension. If you choose to use optional PayContext website features such as Google Login, issue reports, or support forms, the PayContext website may process the information needed to provide those features. This may include your Google profile information, session records, issue report details, and optional screenshots.

Website issue reports and screenshots are used only for support, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and product maintenance. Issue screenshots are stored privately and are available only to authorized administrators.

Please do not include passwords, full card numbers, or sensitive payment credentials in issue reports or screenshots.

Service Providers

The PayContext website relies on service providers needed to operate its features, including Cloudflare for hosting, database, storage, security, and Turnstile verification, and Google for Google Login. These services are used to provide website functionality and protect against abuse.

Security

PayContext is designed to minimize unnecessary data exposure. Extension processing happens locally in your browser. Removing the extension removes its access to SEEK pages, and locally stored extension data can be cleared by removing the extension or clearing extension storage.

Website support data, such as issue reports and screenshots, is stored using Cloudflare services and access is limited to authorized administrators.

Data Retention

Extension job detail cache entries automatically expire after up to 7 days.

Website session records are retained only as needed to keep users signed in and are invalidated when users log out or when sessions expire.

Issue reports may be retained while needed for support, troubleshooting, product improvement, abuse prevention, and record keeping. Issue screenshots are intended for troubleshooting and are generally retained for up to 30 days unless needed for longer troubleshooting, security, or legal reasons.

Your Choices and Requests

You can remove the PayContext extension at any time to stop the extension from running on supported SEEK pages. You can also clear locally stored extension data through your browser or by removing the extension.

If you have used PayContext website account or issue report features, you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your website account or issue reports, where applicable.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect product changes or compliance updates. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
